Stuart L. Hartstone joined Lenamon Law in January, 2011. Stuart earned his law degree from Florida International University College of Law (FIU) in May, 2010. During law school, Stuart worked as a research assistant to Professor Ediberto Román, assisting in the preparation of his May 2010 New York University Press publication, Citizenship and Its Exclusions: Classical, Constitutional, and Critical Race Perspectives. In his final year at FIU, Stuart worked as a student attorney in the Carlos A. Costa Immigration & Human Rights Clinic, where he not only represented clients in deportation proceedings before Immigration Court, but also led FIU’s response to the 2010 Haiti earthquake disaster, training over 150 volunteer law students and local attorneys in the application process for Haitian Temporary Protected Status. Stuart’s coordination efforts helped register over 1,000 Haitian Nationals living in South Florida, earning him the Cali Excellence for the Future Award and the Excellence in Service to the Clinical Program Award.
Stuart earned his undergraduate degree in 2003 at Ithaca College in New York, where he designed his own major combining coursework in business, music, and writing. After completion of his degree, Stuart immediately began working in the music industry, assisting with the organization and production of concerts and music festivals of all sizes around the country, inevitably forming Hartstone Productions, Inc. with his brother in 2004, an artist management and production company that has promoted over 100 concerts in the northeast.

Stuart’s practice focuses in the areas of criminal, entertainment, and legislative law. Stuart also serves as Assistant Director of Florida Capital Resource Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the mitigation and defense of indigent defendants in capital cases.

Stuart is currently a member of The Florida Bar, the Dade-County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.  Most recently, Stuart successfully completed the Massachusetts Bar Exam, and his admission to the Massachusetts Bar is expected to follow shortly.
